Are pirates real or a lie told by the goverment so as to earn more sapport as they make us feel protected ?

i usualy wonder how can small kids( skinny boys) wid no advance weapon or technology hijack a whole army ship while usualy those army ships have bombs...machine gun as for the stupid pirate have ak47 guns n a small row boat....i wanda why does the goverment make us believe in them? Who takes the ransom money cz if they 'pirates' took it they would be ****** rich n as the look of it people in somali are dying of hunger n most of them are in worse condition n poverty is high
