Bring more detail to the hooker, I know I'd put it down if the synopsis was that short. make it a little longer, more detailed (reason why her folks divorced, the troubles she is going to before contemplating suicide etc). Unless this is a short story, you're going to have a lot more information to input to capture a reader's attention.
